From Vision to Cultural Landmark: FGC Delivers the Black Gold Museum in Riyadh
First Gulf Company (FGC) is proud to announce the successful delivery of the Black Gold Museum; a landmark cultural destination located in Riyadh. Commissioned by the Ministry of Culture and housed within the iconic Zaha Hadid–designed structure. The museum stands as the first of its kind to explore the transformative role of oil in shaping global economies, societies, and progress.
FGC’s CMEP and Systems Divisions led the complete fit-out of this complex and high-profile project, delivering seamless integration of architecture, scenography, and advanced systems that enhanced the overall visitor journey.
The project scope included the full transformation of the existing interior into a museum-grade space, featuring bespoke wall claddings, ceiling systems, and high-specification flooring tailored to exhibition requirements. Our team led the development and installation of scenographic elements aligned with the curatorial narrative, alongside the precise integration of artworks, artifacts, and interactive displays.
A significant component of the project was the delivery of advanced audiovisual and lighting systems. This included projection mapping, interactive media, synchronized soundscapes, and programmable museum-grade lighting solutions—creating a dynamic and engaging environment for visitors. Additionally, FGC implemented customized display systems, climate-controlled showcases, and visitor-focused enhancements such as wayfinding and accessibility solutions.
